Sunflowers (Hoop #2)
This series was inspired by my love of florals and embroidery. I absolutely love floral design and do it often for fun in my free time, so I’ve been itching to create a series based on some flowers that I adore! I also have been wanting to experiment with dying my own fabrics and painting and embroidering them. This series is truly a combination of so many ideas I have had floating around in my head for a while!
About the process:
I began with dying 100% organic cotton canvas with coffee! This was a fun process that I cannot wait to play around more with. Each piece of canvas was then stretched in a wooden embroidery hoop, and I sketched and painted the gorgeous florals. Finally, each piece is embellished with embroidery to add texture and depth!
